Alan shows how vran technology can help the transformation of UWB mobile access network

Alcatel lucent, in cooperation with Intel, China Mobile and Spain Telecom, successfully demonstrated the virtualized wireless access network based on nfv and its ability to help operators optimize and enhance network performance and customer experience

at the 2015 Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain, Alcatel lucent will show how wireless operators can flexibly adapt to the changing needs of the market, customers and environment through virtualized wireless access network technology, while significantly improving network performance and reducing costs

Alcatel Lucent's vran technology based on nfv will be demonstrated at its booth (booth 3k10 in hall 3) during the 2015 world mobile communication conference. Intel as a technical partner and China Mobile and Spain Telecom as customers will also demonstrate the technology at their respective booths

Alcatel Lucent's vran technology will be tested by customers in 2015 and put into commercial operation in 2016

the demonstration of this new technology at the world mobile communication conference reflects Alcatel Lucent's business development strategy, that is, to cooperate with industry leaders such as Intel, China Mobile and Spain Telecom to speed up the deployment of next-generation technology and strive to meet the market demand for capacity, performance and efficiency caused by the growth of new wireless devices

Alcatel lucent signed an nfv development agreement with Intel at last year's world mobile communication conference. It is only one year since the launch of vran platform

vran includes virtualized baseband unit (vbbu), which is equipped with Intel? Xeon? General purpose server of processor, which aims to save cost and improve network performance

Alcatel Lucent and China Mobile signed a long-term cooperative development agreement to jointly commit to the innovation of mobile UWB. Last year, the two mobile communication companies jointly demonstrated the situation of the cloud ran project at the world conference. At this conference, China Mobile will demonstrate its achievements in mobile and nfv networks

at last year's conference, Alcatel lucent signed a joint innovation agreement with Spain Telecom to promote the industrial application of nfv. At this year's conference, Spain Telecom will demonstrate Alcatel Lucent's vran solution at its booth to demonstrate its end-to-end fully virtualized network operation capability

this exhibition vran reflects Alcatel Lucent's rich experience in wireless networking and virtualization. In the past 12 months, the company has successively launched virtualization innovation of multiple network functions, including packet core evolution, IMS, content distribution network, service routing and other technologies. Alcatel Lucent's cloudband nfv platform has been applied in more than 30 customer projects. In addition, it also includes an nfv ecosystem with more than 60 members and a wide range of nuage networks SDN network functions (including the virtualization network service VNS launched in 2014), which highlights the company's leadership in nfv and further promotes Alcatel Lucent's development strategy of providing all-round software driven network solutions

Dr. Yi Zhiling, chief scientist of China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI), said: vran is a successful case of c-ran commercialization. CMRI launched the c-ran concept. In the past five years, we have been working closely with Alcatel lucent to develop innovative solutions. We are committed to 1. The electronic universal machine cannot be turned on, and we are committed to building a softer and greener future wireless access network. The achievements of both sides in nfv, especially in the field of vran, will help operators upgrade smoothly and meet the growing needs of customers with a more effective network architecture

Enrique Blanco, global chief technology officer of Telecom Spain, said: Alcatel lucent is an excellent partner and provides outstanding innovative solutions for Telecom Spain's virtualization strategy. The cooperation between the two sides towards 5g, such as vran solutions, helps us deploy more effective networks, so as to bring the best service to customers

Ken rehbehn, chief analyst of 451 research, said: the significant benefits of Ran virtualization to mobile operators are obvious. Using appropriate transmission technology for deployment can reduce the complexity of deployment, improve wireless performance and improve network efficiency. The joint demonstration conducted by operators and manufacturers as major stakeholders shows the importance of the wireless access deployment method and the key progress of the project

Glenn booth, senior vice president and general manager of Alcatel lucent LTE business department, said: by virtualizing ran, operators will take a solid step towards 5g and benefit from the advanced functions and excellent efficiency brought by LTE-A technology. Through the cooperative development of this technology, Alcatel lucent, Intel and China Mobile have been able to quickly launch a complete set of solutions to help operators carry out network evolution more effectively

Sandra Rivera, general manager of Intel network platform group and vice president of data center group, said: we see the great value brought by introducing the advantage of network virtualization into wireless access (RAN), which will help operators reduce operating costs and provide new services. By signing a global cooperation agreement with Alcatel lucent, we have made great progress in the development of vran and demonstrated the perfect integration of their respective technical strengths. Alcatel Lucent's vran will enable operators to take advantage of economies of scale to meet the growing needs of customers in the most flexible and effective way

about the vran demonstration at the 2015 world mobile communication conference

Alcatel lucent will display its full set of hardware and virtualized mobile UWB access products to help operators optimize the deployment of any site and improve efficiency

Alcatel lucent has arranged a complete vran system on its booth, including virtualized baseband unit (vbbu) and virtual content distribution node (part of virtual content distribution network). At the same time, it will also adopt virtualized packet evolution core (vepc), which will be deployed in the same virtualization platform. The vbbu running on the general server will be connected to the remote RF head through the Intel xeo and the standard template diagram of the impact sample V-shaped and U-shaped notch on the projection screen compared with the N processor. The RF head will be installed on the booths of Alcatel lucent, Intel, China Mobile and Spain Telecom respectively, and the four wire video conference function will be set up between the booths. The display contents are as follows:

how operators store the user's background information in the vran site through the virtualized content distribution node, so as to reduce the delay and significantly improve the video quality

how operators can flexibly cope with changing traffic conditions by increasing and reducing call processing functions through vran

How did Alcatel Lucent's vran respond more effectively to equipment hardware failures in July last year and reduce network interruption through real-time management of virtualization applications. When the traditional distributed ran architecture is interrupted, it often takes several hours to recover, and the station address needs to be accessed, while the vbbu only takes a few minutes to deal with the same situation

the world mobile communication conference will be held in Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain. Alcatel Lucent's booth is located at No. 3k10, hall 3
